Wrestling fans and live event junkies, let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like being ringside for an electric night at Arthur Ashe Stadium. This past week, I had the absolute privilege of witnessing Action Bronson make his AEW wrestling debut—and what a debut it was!
You could feel the energy in the stadium as fans packed the stands, eager to see the unique blend of professional wrestling and pure showmanship AEW is known for. Action Bronson, already a legend in the culinary and rap worlds, added wrestler to his growing list of titles—and he did not disappoint. Watching him in the ring, holding his own with the big names of wrestling, was surreal.
But the night wasn’t just about the main event. Being ringside to capture photos of Action in action gave me an entirely new appreciation for the athleticism and theatrics that go into every single move. The wrestlers’ intensity, the crowd’s reactions, and the dramatic lighting made for a photographer’s dream.
Hanging out with friends only elevated the experience. Being alongside Action Bronson for such a milestone moment was special in itself, but meeting Hook730 and photographer Taylor Brown were also highlights of the night. Hook730’s dedication to the craft and Taylor’s keen eye for capturing the perfect shot were inspiring. It’s always great to connect with other creatives and see how they approach their work in such a high-energy environment.
As a fan of live events and someone who thrives on capturing moments that tell a story, this night will go down as one of the most memorable. Wrestling may be scripted, but the passion—from the performers and the fans alike—is as real as it gets. Add in the chance to be ringside, cameras ready, and it’s safe to say this experience is one for the books.
Arthur Ashe Stadium has hosted some iconic events over the years, and now I can say I’ve been part of one. If you ever get the chance to see an AEW show live, do it. And if you can get ringside? Even better. Trust me, it’s an experience unlike any other.
